It is with broken hearts we are announcing our beloved husband & father, Bradley Joseph Garneau (62) of Ardrossan AB, passed away suddenly on August 18th, 2023.
Brad was born on August 22nd, 1960, to Fred and Ruth Garneau in Moose Jaw, SK. After being overseas during his early years, Brad grew up in Prince Albert, SK and enjoyed playing hockey, spending time at his uncle’s farm, and being at the lake. In October 1981, he met the love of his life, Cindy Davies, and they would go on to be married on August 27, 1983. Cindy and Brad enjoyed their honeymoon in Hawaii and returned several times over the years. They just returned from their latest adventure this past March.
Brad had many hobbies and passions, but above all, his family was the most precious to him. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his family. For years during the summer, you would find him at Waskesiu Lake in Saskatchewan with extended family & friends. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, spending time around the fire and playing cribbage & other board games. As the family grew up, the adventures changed and together they enjoyed many fun trips to California, Florida & Hawaii. He had an annual fishing trip to Vancouver Island with good friends that he always looked forward to, and the catch was always brought home and shared. Brad enjoyed sitcom marathons and Yahtzee tournaments with his daughter Courtney. He and his son Cole shared a passion for hockey, and together they went through many ups and downs as faithful Oiler fans. Brad was also an Oil Kings season ticket holder, attending games with Cindy and their dear friends Brent & Wendy.
There was no challenge Brad wouldn’t try and tackle, he enjoyed working in the yard at his acreage accompanied by some of the furry family members. Cole, Courtney & Brad had just finished building another greenhouse for Cindy last month. He was always willing to drop whatever he had on the go and come to the aid of others whether it was something big or small. He had a sense of humor that lit up the room, and he was always the one cracking jokes and making those around him smile. His personality, generosity and love will be greatly missed by us all.
Brad spent over 34 years of his life climbing through the ranks at Johnson Controls. His humble start as an HVAC mechanic would eventually lead to various leadership and management positions, where he always believed that building a strong team and providing great customer service were the keys to success. He leaves behind a legacy there that he was passionate about and proud of. Above all, he mentored others throughout their careers, and he will be missed.
Brad is survived by his family, his wife, Cindy, and children, Cole (Leah) & Courtney. He is also survived by his mother Ruth (Red) Haughn, his brother Blair, his stepsister Andrea, his father & mother in-law John & Marilyn Davies, his brother in-laws Brad (Kerry) Davies & Brent (Karen) Davies. Along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, loyal friends and beloved pets.
He was pre-deceased by his father and stepmother.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday September 15th at 2pm at the Ardrossan Recreation Complex (80-1st Avenue, Ardrossan AB). A live streaming link will be posted leading up to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Santa’s Anonymous or your favorite animal charity.
