Using his passion for music and bringing people together, one Prince Albert man has been working tirelessly to bring the ‘Summer Shindig’ to town.

Kelly Ermine, who owns KelMan Productions, has organized the event featuring several local area musicians specializing in different genres.

They will be performing at the Kinsmen Park Amphitheatre from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

This is the first year the Summer Shindig will be held but Ermine hopes it will be an annual event.

As for why he’s doing this, Ermine said it’s a way of giving back to his community and sharing his passions and talents with residents of all ages.

“It’s my hometown since when I was a kid,” he said. “I wanted to bring something like that to my hometown. I just kind of want to bring a positive kind of get-together.”

“I’ve been working in the production field around Canada and I’m working on cruise ships doing that now,” Ermine added. “So just kind of bringing what I learned to back to PA and help expose some artists.”

Included in the lineup for the day are artists like John J Cook, Trashville Honkey Tonk Band, Darwin Roy, DJ Exl, Ermine himself, and two surprise acts.

“It’s kind of music for everybody,” said Ermine. “Pop music, dance, music, hip hop, country music, a little bit of everything.”

Food vendors and local retailers will also be setting up shop at Kinsmen Park.

An after-hours event will take place at the East Hill Hall featuring Canadian comedian Myles Morrison and several DJs.
