It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ponch Tyson Thomas Bird, late of Prince Albert, SK formerly of Montreal Lake First Nation, SK on July 22^nd, 2023, at the age of 42 years. Ponch was born in Prince Albert, SK on April 29^th, 1981, to Rose Marie Bird & Thomas Lavallee. Ponch will be lovingly remembered by his common-law spouse Freda Ballantyne; his children Gavin Ballantyne, & Zaib Henderson; his mother Rose Marie Bird; his father Thomas Lavallee; his siblings Greg Bird (Dagmney Okemow), Stevie Ross, Tommy Lavallee, Jonathon Lavallee, Shane Lavallee, Brandy Lavallee, Desire Bird (Eli), & Shelby Lavallee; his godchildren Hezekiah Charles, & Lucas Ballantyne; his aunts & uncles Joan Okemow, Susan Bird, Daisy Gamble (Darcy), Angie Bird, Victoria Bird, Mary Naytowhow (Conrad), Caroline Lavallee, Nora Roberts, Elaine Lavallee, Flossie Charles, Gilbert Bird, Jimmy Alex Bird, Elvis Bird, Arnold Bird, Sidney Bird, Josphep Lavallee, Peter Lavallee, Freddie Lavallee, & Noah Lavallee; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, & extended family. Ponch was predeceased by his brother Myron Lavallee; his cousins Dominic Bird, & Trevor Bird; his paternal grandparents Jonas & Jeanie Lavallee; & his maternal grandparents Sammy & Susan Bird. A Wake Service will be held on Thursday, July 27^th, 2023, at 6 PM at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Prince Albert, SK. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 28^th, 2023, at 1 PM at MacKenzie Chapel in Prince Albert, SK. The Officiant will be Pastor Dixie Bird. The Honourary Pallbearers are all those who knew and loved Ponch. The Pallbearers are Arnold Bird, Shane Lavallee, Khristopher Bird, Jonathan Lavallee, Kippi Bird, Tommy Lavallee, Ronald M Charles, Brandy Lavallee, Jono Lavallee, Shelby Lavallee, Rodney Lavallee, Fonda Okemow, Samson Bird, Kristian Bird, Maxine Bird, Clayton Naytowhow, Roseanne Halkett, Rayna Bird, Christina Halkett, Harriett Halkett, Danny Okemow, Rachel Lavallee, Cody Okemow, Olivia Bird, & Stevie Ross. The Interment will take place at South Hill Cemetery in Prince Albert, SK.
