Celtics teams shine bright at Provincials

Prince Albert was well represented this past weekend at the Saskatchewan Soccer Association’s 11 aside provincial championships.

The U19 Celtics girls squad won gold, knocking off FCR Chaos in two straight games (2-0, 5-0).

Sophia Zuck scored three goals for the Celtics squad. The other goal scorers were Riley Wismer, Jorja Larson, Tessa Isbister and Aaliyah Alexander.

Meanwhile the U15 Celtics girls won silver.

After first tying the FCR Blue Stars 1-1, the Celtics played YUFC twice and won both games (3-0 and 1-0).

In Sunday’s final, the Celtics faced the Blue Stars again and lost 3-0.

Casey Miller and Mia Stonechild each played four games and had two goals apiece.

The girls’ games were held in Regina at Mount Pleasant North, while the boys’ games were held at Regina’s Leibel field.

The U15 Celtics boys’ finished third in their three team division, losing twice and tying the other game.

Anderson Raas scored the lone goal for the Celtics, which came against Hollandia Joslin on Saturday.
