*Service Information Updated*
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Grace Erickson on the morning of February 27th, 2023, at the age of 97 years. Grace was born to William and Phyllis Goodman in Drumheller, AB on January 26th, 1926. Eventually, her family made their way to the Forest Gate area, north of Paddockwood.
Grace married Ole Erickson in November of 1948. She worked alongside him on the farm at Paddockwood before retiring to Marquis Towers in Prince Albert, SK in 1974.
They were both actively involved in the Senior Citizens activities, Meals on Wheels, and did volunteer work at the Community Clinic. Ole passed away in 1982 and eventually, Grace moved into North Cote Manor.
Grace was a great cook and loved listening to her country music. She continued to keep busy volunteering, playing cards, bingo, and crocheting. She made many things including doilies, afghans, scarves, towel holders, baby, and doll clothes. But in the last several years she mainly just made slippers, hundreds of slippers, while still missing Ole terribly.
Grace was a Raider season ticket holder and an avid fan for years. She proudly displayed her Raider magnets on her fridge and a team picture on her door. She also enjoyed watching the Toronto Blue Jays and Edmonton Oilers. At least until they took Draisaitl away from the Raiders, too early she felt!
At the beginning of 2022, she moved to the Jubilee Lodge in Kinistino. Where she of course continued to make slippers.
From the Jubilee Lodge, she moved into Mount St. Joseph’s on February 16th of this year and spent a brief 11 days there. This feisty and maybe stubborn lady will surely be missed by all.
Grace will be lovingly remembered by her four granddaughters & their families:
