Fishing, camping season opening with long weekend at Prince Albert National Park
As smoke clears out of the sky and the May Long Weekend approaches, you might be getting ready to pack up and head for a campground in Prince Albert National Park. The park is eagerly awaiting people coming up to start camping again.
Starting on May 19, all campgrounds will officially open for the season. A fire ban is still in effect for the park, and all open fires are prohibited, but the start of the season is an exciting time for them nonetheless.
“We’re very excited to welcome campers and seasonal visitors back to the park,” said Kaylene Amundson, promotions and non-personal media officer at Prince Albert National Park. “All camp sites will be open for this first weekend. We’re also going to have a lot of activities happening.”
This will also be opening weekend for most of the businesses in the Waskesiu area. Fishing season will open up on May 20, and the nature centre will open on that day as well.
