Man deceased after being struck by vehicle in Northside

A 34-year-old man died after being hit be a vehicle outside of a business on Highway 2 in Northside yesterday.

Police and EMS responded and declared the man deceased at the scene.

The family of the man, who is from Paddockwood, have been notified.

Officers say that the initial investigation revealed at about 8:30 p.m., a vehicle hit the victim then fled. Police found it several hours later in the community of Little Red River. The driver was then found and is now in police custody.

Prince Albert RCMP began patrolling to locate the vehicle. It was located in the community of Little Red River at approximately 11 p.m. The driver was later located and taken into custody.

While RCMP did not release the man’s name, paNOW has learned from someone close to the victim and a witness at the scene that Ryan Clark was killed.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes has taken carriage of this investigation. Charges against the male are pending and the investigation continues.
