The votes have been cast and once again, a local eatery has won the top prizes from Poutine Week.

The second annual event saw several restaurants in the community offer a portion of sales of their poutines to the Big Brothers and Big Sisters (BBBS) of Prince Albert.

For the second year in a row, the restaurant with the most poutines won is the Knotty Pine Bistro.

“It was very exciting. It’s a good program, it’s fun to have the Poutine Week in Prince Albert and it’s for a very good cause,” owner Barb Lychak said as she received the Gravy Bowl trophy for the most sales.

Knotty Pine also captured the social media award for its custom dish, the Poutziki.

Natasha Thomson with the BBBS was very excited to present the awards to Barb and reflected on how much the community supported this year’s Poutine Week.

We had so many people going to all the restaurants, trying the poutines and had some really great feedback that it was great food and great fun,” she said.

Thomson said that almost $3,800 was raised through poutine sales which will go to the mentoring programs through BBBS.
