WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg ICE closed out the season series against the Raiders with a win on Sunday, defeating Prince Albert 6-1 at Wayne Fleming Arena.

The loss wraps up a three-in-three weekend for the Raiders where they edged the Brandon Wheat Kings 4-3 on Friday night before falling to the ICE last night 4-1 in game two.

Carter Anderson potted the only goal for Prince Albert with Seth Tansem and Brayden Dube collecting assists on the play.

Owen Pederson led the way for Winnipeg, netting a pair of goals and an assist. Zack Ostapchuk scored twice while Graham Sward and Ben Zloty each had one goal and a helper. Matthew Savoie added two assists and Jonas Woo had one.

Max Hildebrand and Tikhon Chaika combined for 41 saves in the game as the Raiders fall to 27-36-3-0 on the campaign.

Daniel Hauser stopped 29 shots to help the ICE improve to 55-9-1-0 on the year.

COMPLETE BOX SCORE

Winnipeg carried a 1-0 lead after the first period where Pederson fed a cross crease pass to Sward who tapped into the empty cage to put the ICE up early.

The Raiders managed to tie it up in just three minutes into the second with Tansem connecting with Anderson for his 14th of the campaign.

Later in the period, tempers began to boil over as multiple fights would break out over the span of less than three minutes. Multiple ten minute misconducts were issued to either team along with a handful of minor penalties for either team. Almost immediately after the scraps, Pederson scored twice for Winnipeg as the ICE then held a 3-1 lead heading into the third.

Zloty scored in the third for the ICE while Ostapchuk added two of his own as Winnipeg downed PA 6-1.

The Raiders are back on home ice for the final time this season on Friday night when they host the Moose Jaw Warriors. Puck drop is slated for 7pm.
