Elizabeth Chamberlain’s latest movie can only truly be described as out of this world.

Alien Storm, in which Chamberlain plays a waitress, wrapped up production earlier this month in Las Vegas. The film marked Chamberlain’s first trip to the United States.

“At the time my manager found the project, the script had already been written and it was fully cast and they said we like her so much, but there’s no roles for her anymore because it’s fully cast so they ended up writing an extra role in,” she explained

Starring Kevin Sorbo (Hercules TV series, Andromeda) and Tom Arnold (True Lies, The Good Witch Christmas), Alien Storm follows the events that transpire after a strange weather pattern suddenly cuts off communications with major cities across the globe. When people who had come together for a party, seek refuge in the host’s bunker, a new threat emerges from the fog and has a very dangerous appetite.

While Alien Storm marks Chamberlain’s first venture south of the border to do a movie, the young actress has close to 20 film credits. One of her most recent projects is the slasher flick Grotesque, which has gained its own cult following. Chamberlain, who produced and stars in the movie, admitted she was surprised at how well it did, adding she works hard on all her projects.

“I just assume nothing is gonna go viral because I don’t wanna be let down and for Grotesque I’m really really happy it did go far and I’m really happy we are gonna do a second one and maybe a third one and maybe continue on with it,” she said.

Graduating from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Chamberlain explained she’s always had a passion for performing but noted it was during a production of the Wedding Singer in her grade 11 year, she realized acting was her calling in life.

“I think as humans we always want to find somewhere to belong and that’s when I knew that theatre, film, acting, performing, that’s where I belong. And that’s just what feels so normal to me and so natural to me and I just can’t imagine my life without it,” she said.

When it comes to work, Chamberlain is not afraid to get her hands dirty. (Submitted/ Elizabeth Chamberlain)

The release date for Alien Storm is currently unknown. In the meantime Chamberlain is already looking ahead to her next projects including Grotesque 2 and a possible movie next year, that would require her to travel overseas. In addition though to her acting, Chamberlain also writes music, performs at concerts, and helps teach young aspiring actors through Broadway North. While acknowledging it’s good for the youth to see someone from a small city like Prince Albert appearing in movies, she joked it might be even more inspiring if the kids she teaches were allowed to watch the movies.

“They’re always like miss Elizabeth where can I see your films, and I’m like you can’t. You turn 18 first and then we’ll talk,” she said.

And when asked about a dream role down the road, Chamberlain explained she’s drawn to films that question morality

“And I love films that kind of have the reluctant hero or maybe like a villain you kinda sympathize with a little bit too much.” she said. “I’m also always looking for roles for a movie musical”
