Bail granted for man charged with attempted murder

A man charged after a serious assault in Prince Albert’s East Flat has been released on bail.

Quentin George Gardiner, 37, appeared by video when his case was discussed Friday morning at Prince Albert Provincial Court.

In relation to the incident that happened on Dec. 2, Gardiner is facing charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault.

In the early morning hours, police responded to an assault complaint at a home in the 500 block of Fifth Ave. E.

The judge’s reason for releasing Gardiner and the evidence discussed during the bail hearing are protected by a publication ban.

Ordinarily, factors may include the release plan as well as a criminal record. Conditions of Gardiner’s release include living at a residence outside Prince Albert, electronic monitoring, and a $1,000 surety.

The case is back in court on Feb. 27.

According to a prior story published by paNOW, Gardiner was convicted of manslaughter in 2007 and received an eight-year prison sentence.
