Darlene Slater named newest trustee to PACSD

The Prince Albert Catholic School Division (PACSD) has welcomed its newest trustee by acclamation.

In November 2022, the PACSD approved the process for a byelection for Subdivision 2 to fill that vacant seat.

A call for nominations was put out in early December with the deadline set for Jan. 4, 2023. However, no nominations were received, prompting the board to extend the deadline to Jan. 18.

One nomination was received by that deadline and therefore, Darlene Slater was declared as the trustee for Subdivision 2.

The results were presented to the PACSD Board of Education at its meeting on Monday.

Other items discussed at the meeting included a request to approve the Province’s Education plan for 2023 to 2030.

The board was also presented with the date for the annual meeting between the PACSD and the board of trustees with the Sask. Rivers Public School Division. That meeting is scheduled for March 20.
