Rick Reding
1959 ~ 2022

Rick was born March 9, 1959, to John & Hilda Reding and passed away on December 23, 2022, at the age of 63 years, in Prince Albert, SK.

Rick attended school in Prince Albert, SK. At the age of 15, his curiosity led him to be watching a couple of roofers across the back alley. They saw him watching and asked if he wanted to earn some cash. This tiny teen began packing bundles of shingles up the ladder. Each bundle weighed about half his weight!

Ben, Lou, and George helped start him into his career of roofing. Even when he ventured on his own, his friendship with the men continued. He soon met with George’s brother, Terry who introduced to Gary Robertson Music, where he soon purchased the franchise rights to Northern Saskatchewan. He loved travelling to all the communities, and truly enjoyed the different get-togethers that were planned.

In 1982, he married Cathy Somers, and they had 2 children, Melissa (1988) and Jason (1989). As life continuously throws challenges to people, they were no exception and parted ways a few years later.

In 1995, he married Anna-Lise Webb and found different opportunities when they moved to Edmonton. challenges continued and they soon parted.

In 2013 he moved back to Prince Albert to be with our aging mother. He wanted to help her continue living on her acreage. He helped her with her garden, picking berries, canning, freezing, and making jams. He was very happy that she could finish her life living at home.

Rick is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Darcy), grandchildren, Aria, Liam; his son, Jason; his sister, Brenda; his niece, Miranda, and his nephew, Kirby. He was predeceased by his father, John, in 1989 and his mother, Hilda in August 2022.
