Extreme cold warning returns for PA and surrounding areas

After a very brief reprieve, an extreme cold warning has returned for the Prince Albert – Shellbrook – Spiritwood – Duck Lake region.

Environment Canada said windchills between -40 C and -50 C are possible in the hours and days.

The forecast for Prince Albert calls for a low of -36 C Thursday night with windchills possibly hitting -45 C.

The forecasted high for Friday afternoon is -31 C with windchills around -42 C and an overnight low of -36 C.

Thankfully, that should be the last of the extreme cold temperatures as highs are expected to reach -18 C and -16 C for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, respectively.

During extreme cold alerts, you’re asked to limit your exposure to the elements as the risk of frostbite drastically increases.
