Raiders host Tigers in Saturday night tilt

The Prince Albert Raiders (7-12-2-0) will look to extend their winning streak to three tonight when they host the Medicine Hat Tigers (6-9-4-1) at the Art Hauser Centre.

This is the second of four meetings between these clubs this season, where PA downed the Tigers in the first game 3-1 in Medicine Hat back on Nov. 8.

With the surprise departure of former Raider captain Nolan Allan on Wednesday, some new faces will don the green and gold in tonight’s contest. Brayden Dube and Easton Kovacs will make their Raider debuts tonight while Gabe Ludwig, who was also acquired in the Allan trade, will not dress tonight as he remains on the injured list.

In addition to the new faces, veteran forward Evan Herman was named the new captain of the team yesterday at practice and will make his captaincy debut tonight against Medicine Hat.

The Tigers come into tonight’s contest having lost in extras last night, falling to the Saskatoon Blades 4-3 in overtime.

After tonight, the Raiders have a six-day break before heading west to Alberta where they’ll play Calgary, Red Deer, and Medicine Hat in their second three-in-three weekend of the season.

Who to Watch

Alternate captain Carson Latimer has been on a tear as of late. With his goal on Tuesday in Moose Jaw, the Ottawa Senators’ prospect now has a point in eight of his last nine games where he’s scored 14 points (5G, 9A) over that span.

Veteran forward Keaton Sorensen has a goal in the past two games and he’ll look to build on that tonight against Medicine Hat. The Red Deer, AB product has 13 points (9G, 4A) in 20 games this season and is on pace for over 40 points.

Alternate captain Landon Kosior is averaging a point per game this season, where he currently sits at 19 (8G, 11A). The LA Kings prospect has 12 points (4G, 8A) in his last nine games, which includes an assist last game against the Warriors.
