Hounds sweep Bears in weekend set

WILCOX, SK – The Prince Albert Northern Bears lost their third straight on Sunday afternoon, falling to the Notre Dame Hounds 3-2 at the Duncan McNeill Arena.

The loss comes after falling 5-3 to the Saskatoon Stars on Thursday, and 4-2 to the same Hounds team Saturday night.

Jacquelyne Chief led the scoresheet for the Bears weekend, netting a goal and two assists in the two games while Jasmine Kohl and Tristyn Endicott didn’t fall far behind Chief, each netting a goal and an assist. Claudia Lammers was the other goal scorer for PA while Kaebree Young, Jazlyn Petreman, Sasha Malenfant, and Hannah Guttormson each potted assists.

For the Hounds, Kyra Anderson led her team in the points department by scoring two goals and collecting three assists versus the Bears. Her teammate Alyssa Rasmuson netted two goals and one assist while Felicia An and Julianna Herman each had two points. An had a goal and an assist while Herman potted two helpers.

Brooke Archer got the nod in game one yesterday where she made a whopping 43 saves in the contest. Annika Neufeldt was given the start this afternoon where she managed to stop 22 shots where PA now falls to 2-9-0-0 on the campaign after this weekend.

Hounds’ netminders Mackenzie Bloom and Schay Camphaug combined for 36 total saves on the weekend, helping Notre Dame stay undefeated at 7-0-0-0 on the year.

The Bears are back in PA for their next contest where they’ll host the Regina Avana Rebels on Saturday afternoon.
