Margaret passed away peacefully on Sunday in her home at Mont Saint Joseph with her family by her side in the afternoon of her 98th birthday.
She is survived by her daughter Marion Dunbar, son Allan (Kathy) Billesberger, granddaughters Candy Dunbar, Crystal Dunbar, Jessica (Kyle) Kurczaba, and great grandson, Hayden Dunbar, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Billesberger, son David Billesberger, parents James & Isabella Rennie, brother Larry (Rosemary) Rennie, and sisters Marion (Hector) Paterson and Winnie (Maurice) Glenn.
Margaret was born in the county of Aberdeen, Scotland. At the age of 4, she along with her mother and siblings immigrated to Canada. Her father had moved to Canada the year before.
Margaret married Ernest Billesberger in November of 1947. They both were avid sports fans and loved to dance. Margaret also curled for 43 years. They made many friends over the years in the communities they lived in – Cudworth, Carlton, Big River, and then retired to Prince Albert in 1984.
Margaret enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, and word puzzles. She learned to paint, and was a three time breast cancer survivor.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5th, 2022 at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Mont Saint Joseph Foundation Inc. or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
