The family of Kimberley Dawn Harris (Grywacheski) would like to announce her sudden passing. Kim passed away un-expectantly in her home, in Coquitlam, British Columbia, on August 8, 2022, at the age of 43. Kim was not alone during her passing, she was watched over, until others could arrive, by her dog Bella.
Kim was survived by her stepmother, Sharon Grywacheski and her siblings: Curtis Grywacheski, Melissa Hurl (Justin), Ryan Harris, Carla Grywacheski, Nick Grywacheski, Josh Grywacheski (Jhanet), Sheldon Charles, and Dee Jay Brunet. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews: Kelsey (Skyler), Krista, and Nathan; Raely, Rya and Reese; Jesse, Jeremy, Matthew, Christopher and Olivia, Chrislyn and Colbie; Christian, Keya, Jayla and Leia; Nichole; Adahlynn and Zahnaiya; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Her very special friends Mr. and Mrs. Ketter, who have stood by her side since she was a child, as well as her Auntie Joyce will also miss her dearly.
Kim was predeceased by her father, Isadore Grywacheski; her mother Judith Harris; her Grandparents, Nick and Mary Grywacheski and Jim and Merle Harris; as well as her infant nephew Rylan.
Kim was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on July 16th, 1979. As a young adult, she ventured out at an early age to experience new places and make amazing friends. Kim spent time in Toronto, Calgary, Australia, visited Las Vegas, and eventually made her home on the West Coast. She vowed never to return to the snow filled tundra of Saskatchewan, except to return for family gatherings and celebrations. Kim always supported her family through the highs and lows and was always on the next plane available, anytime that her family was in need. She supported her family during hospital stints, new additions to the family or to pay respect to those that were lost. Kim was always there.
While she never had any children of her own, Kim held a very special place in her heart for all of her nieces and nephews and even though she returned home only once or twice a year, she tried her very best to split her time evenly, so that she could reconnect with the ones that she loved. When she was not working or planning her next trip back home to Prince Albert, Kim would spend her free time enjoying the mild, west coast climate. She enjoyed camping with her friends and hiking the different trails in the Vancouver mountains. On many occasions, she would document her adventure filled days with a multitude of selfies and pictures to share with her social media family. She posted pictures of her and her hiking friends, the gorgeous views or of her bike riding with Bella, who Kim had decked out in riding goggles and had sitting front and center in her bike basket. When Kim wasn’t exploring the wilderness she would spend time in her yard, trying diligently to keep her grass alive or one would find her sitting in her special chair watching the sunsets, on her patio, listening to her favorite songs. During the holidays in Vancouver, when she did not have her family to spend her special moments with, she was regularly included in the many familial celebrations of her West Coast friends, who took her in and treated her like family. She would gush about the Christmas dinners, Halloween parties, and street bonfires where her and her neighbors would spend hours watching the inexperienced drivers try to make it up the “lightly” snowed hills or they would watch in awe as those same drivers held on tight while they slid down those slippery slopes and tried to avoid the other cars in the street. “Learning to drive in Saskatchewan winters always came in handy”, she would say… but those cold Vancouver days were “a different kind of cold” than back home. “-12 here is just as cold as -40 in Sask., it’s just a different kinda cold!” Kim loved to argue, and in every argument, she was always right… at least from her point of view. Whether she made you mad, or made you laugh, the one thing that we can all agree on is that her passing has left a very large whole in our family!
Our Saskatchewan family would like to send out a huge thank you to her B.C. Family: Dave, Mel, Tanya, Christine and her husband, and Kasia and her husband who went over and above to help our family in this time of difficulty. We appreciate all that you did for Kim and Bella to make this transition as easy as possible for us!
A celebration will be held at a later date in order for her family and friends to reflect on the memories and stories that made Kim who she was.
