Nellie Chubak
1922 ~ 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce Nellie Chubak passed away, at the age of 99 years, with family by her side on August 20, 2022, at Mont St. Joseph Care Home, in Prince Albert, SK.

Nellie Chubak (nee Nowak) was born on November 23, 1922. She attended school in Yellow Creek, SK. After her high school years, she moved to Toronto, ON, where she first worked at a Powder Puff factory. That is where she married the love of her life Dmytro Chubak in 1942, who was enlisted to service in the Second World War until 1945. After the war they moved back to Yellow Creek to farm for the next 50 years.

Mom was a hard-working devoted wife, an immaculate house keeper, amazing cook. Gardening and flowers were her passion, and raising her 4 children whom she loved with all her heart. Nellie still found time to be dedicated to the community and her church and other organizations.

Nellie will be deeply missed, forever loved, and remembered by her family, her sons, Allan (Lucy), Jim (Rose); her daughters, Sherry (Ev) Olson, Karel (Ken) Isbister; her cherished 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Dmytro Chubak; her parents, John & Mary Nowak; her siblings, Vicky, Syl, Toni, Adele, Paul, Marcy, and Mary; 4 brothers-in-law and 1 sister-in-law.

The Memorial Service for Nellie will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at River Park Funeral Home, 301 River Street West, Prince Albert, SK.
