Lionel Ethier of Prince Albert, Sk formerly of Davis, SK passed away peacefully of old age on Friday, August 19th, 2022, at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 85 years. Lionel was born in Prince Albert, SK on November 11th, 1936.
Lionel lived a full and meaningful life. Lionel started out helping on the family farm in St. Louis, SK at a young age. He worked hard and saved so he could start a farm of his own in Davis, SK. Lionel ran his farm successfully enough to make a life with his family. In 1980, Lionel met Mavis Bear. Fate seemed to have brought them together when Mavis happened to get stuck in the ditch and Lionel had to rescue her.
In 1982, they welcomed their son Kurtis Ethier into the world. Lionel enjoyed raising his family and helping his friends and neighbors. Lionel was overjoyed to become the grandfather of three boys. Lionel’s first-born grandson Logan would spend most weekends with him. When Logan was 5 years old, he wanted to be a vacuum technician, after watching grandpa fix a vacuum and other things.
Lionel was a patient and kind man, even though his grandkids would test his patience at times, he would never show his frustration. Lionel would be there at the drop of a hat if you needed him. Lionel touched the lives of those who knew him and will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity. Lionel will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
