It is with great sadness that the family of Roland “Rollie” Desjardins announce his passing at East Trout Lake, SK surrounded by family on August 1, 2022, after a short courageous battle with cancer.
Roland “Rollie” Paul Maurice Desjardins, age 65, was born on August 8, 1956, in Prince Albert, SK to Paul and Aldea (nee Turgeon) Desjardins. As a child, Roland enjoyed the outdoors, with countless hours on the water fishing and in the winter playing hockey for many hours on the ice. When Roland got older, he hung up his skates for bowling. On October 9, 1976 in Albertville, SK, Roland married the love of his life Claire Gobeil and they raised four children: Michelle, Dawn, Roland Jr and Kathleen. He provided and worked hard for his family beginning at the Molsen’s Brewery then did sheet metal work.
Roland is survived by his wife, Claire; children: Michelle, Dawn (Gary) Borle; and their children: Cierra, Leah, Emma-Leigh, Parker and Dakota; Roland (Gina); and their children: Ryder and Nash; Kathleen (Dustin) Glover; and their children: Mercy, Tristan, Ethan, Remmie and Myles.; mother in-law, Irene Gobeil; siblings: Lawrence (Brenda), MaryAnne, Maurice (Andrea); brothers and sisters in-law: Norman (Leonie) Gobeil, Doris (Dave) McKnight, Diana Gobeil, Pauline (Alain) Trudel; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Roland is predeceased by his parents, Paul and Aldea Desjardins; father in-law, Gerard Gobeil.
Prayer Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 28 Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Services will be live streamed and videotaped.
