Gary Lloyd
1937-2022
Surrounded by his family,Gary passed away peacefully at St.Paul’s hospital on July 27th. He was born on the home quarter in Silver Stream Sask. September 16th 1937. Gary was a Jack of all trades”_ surveying, farming, welding, construction, truck operator, and he had a mechanical ability to fix his own machinery and that of others. His sons agree that he should have been an engineer because of his ability to build equipment such as hauling trailers, pontoon boat, water trailers, cultivator and 5th wheel hitch. If he couldn’t afford it,he built it.He even designed and built the house at Candle Lake at age of 66.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 58 years,Henriette, his two sons, Eddy (Kelly) and grandsons Andrew and Aubrey,Daniel(Tanya) and granddaughter Saige. His Brother ,Michael (Fran),his sister-law Agnes Helmink and many nieces and nephews. In the past he was a member of several community clubs such as the curling club,Recreational board,President of John Bosco Youth camp, member of Parish Council and served as a 4th Dregree and Grand Knight of the Knight of Columbus. He will always be remembered with the love he had for his wife, sons, extended family and friends. His friends expressed to Henriette their gratitude to him for his many kindness to them and openness to people in need. He was always there for them. He was also known for his strong viewpoints especially on politics!!
Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at St. Paul’s who took care of him in ICU and the 5th floor. Your care compassion and comfort will always be in our hearts.
