Margo Fournier sale, soccer and union deals on Monday council agenda

Jul 11, 2022 | 8:00 AM

One of the items on Monday’s council agenda is a deal to change the collective agreement the City has with its employees.

By changing the amount engineers are paid, the city hopes to solve a long-running issue with recruiting engineers to staff.

The starting wages for technician II could increase to $30.68 per hour while a level III technician would go to $34.68 per hour, an increase of over $4.

Council will also be presented with a sale agreement for the Margo Fournier Centre to the Prince Albert Grand Council for $375,000.

Included in the deal will be an agreement to allow the Kinsmen Heritage Centre to continue using their portion of the site as they have been for years.

Another deal that will be put to council is a five-year lease between the city and the Youth Soccer Association.

If approved, the soccer association will have the use of the turf and office at the Alfred Jenkins Field House for a base rental fee of $80,000. Of that, $30,000 will go towards the future replacement of the indoor turf.

Council’s next regular meeting is at 2:00 pm on Monday.
