Sophie Olde

August 1, 1941 ~ June 15, 2022

 

On June 15, 2022, Sophie Olde passed away peacefully at the age of 80 at the Herb Bassett Home in Prince Albert, SK.

 

Sophie was born on August 1, 1941 to Adolph and Nellie Zalewski in White Star District. Sophie was the eldest of four children.  She became a devoted farm wife bringing coffee, dainties and meals out to the field at all hours of the day and taking care of her family. Sophie was proud when she raised her three boys Ray, Steve and Dwayne. She doted on the boys letting them enjoy their music, cars and lives as she showed her strength in her presence. In her fifty’s Sophie began to suffer from her MS and Herb Bassett Home became her residence. Sophie never complained and learned to make and find comfort in the home. She loved Christmas, Teddy’s and later in life found a passion to paint. After many years of suffering her loss is difficult but peaceful knowing her pain has ended.

 

Sophie leaves to cherish her memory her sons: Ray (Brenda) Olde of Nipawin, Stephen (Wendy) Olde of Prince Albert, Dwayne (Fay) Red Deer, AB; siblings: Ed (Melanie) Zalewski, Ron (Lynne) Zalewski, and Marie (Rob) Temple. numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

Private Family Service will be held on Thursday June 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dennis Serfas officiating.  Interment will be held at South Hill Cemetery, Prince Albert, SK Services will be live streamed and videotaped.
