Tobin Lake hosts youth fishing tournament
Saturday was a good day to be on the water as 26 teams left the dock at Tobin Lake to see who could catch the most fish in the annual youth fishing derby.
It was calm and not too sunny, said Lana Irving, one of the organizing committee members, which is what makes it a good fishing day.
“This year it was beautiful. It was a little cloudy so no kids were getting sunburned. There was no wind so they had a great day,” she said.
Each team that enters includes an adult and up to two youth ages 17 and younger. This year, the youngest fisherman was four, who caught some fish and some special recognition.
