Love endorses Carla Beck for NDP leadership
Saskatoon MLA Matt Love is standing behind Carla Beck as she works to become the next leader of the Saskatchewan NDP.
The pair announced Love’s endorsement Friday at Market Mall in Saskatoon.
Beck said the Moe government has been “uninterested” in making changes and moving forward, but her party is not. She wants to rebuild the NDP in Saskatchewan, she said, and was excited to have Love’s support.
More funding for education is a priority for Beck, she said. Beck served for two years as a trustee on the Regina Public Schools board before being elected as an NDP MLA in 2016. She said inadequate funding in schools, even at that time, was one of the reasons she decided to enter provincial politics.
