Dad, what does one say about Dad? Dad grew up in the Carlton district, where he met his future wife Jeannine Fiolleau, who grew up in the Titanic District. They were married November 27, 1958, and the story of his life began there. Together they raised 5 children. Dad had many talents. A farmer, gardener, cook, lover of animals, dogs, and don’t forget his beloved crows. He was also an amazing mechanic, obtaining his Journeyman Certificate in 1961. After leaving the mechanic trade, he became Town Foreman of Duck Lake. At the age of 65 Dad retired from the town. He then worked casually for Jean, officially laying down the wrenches at the age of 75. It was his true passion in life. Wherever Dad went he had an uncanny way of meeting people, always making sure to tell them he was from Saskatchewan, he was very proud of his province. He had an off the wall sense of humor thinking of things that no one else would. He was an amazing storyteller, captivating audiences young and old. Don’t forget about pranks, Dad always loved a good clean prank, one never knew who his next victim might be. He loved to read, listen to old time music, trying new things, and the list goes on. He was a very generous man always willing to help those in need. His greatest joy was spending time with people, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Until we meet again Dad, rest well. A graveside service will take place Saturday, July 2, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at the Titanic Cemetery (west of Duck Lake) officiated by Father Maurice Fiolleau. A birthday celebration and light lunch will take place on the Titanic grounds following the service. Please dress casually as Dad never liked to get dressed up all fancy. Please bring a lawn chair. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and palliative team at St. Paul’s Hospital and the management and staff of Porteous Lodge for making Dad’s last leg of his journey as comfortable as possible. Special thank you to Prairie Meadow place for truly making their last 2 years a great place to live.
