Cooke Municipal Golf Course officially opens up

Winter did its best to hold on as long as it could this year, with late snowstorms to steal away early days of spring. But the sun is finally out and golfing season can finally begin at Cooke Municipal Golf Course.

Al Hunt is one of those golfers that couldn’t wait. He kept asking Cooke when the opening day would be. And when the course sent out the starting date to its members, Hunt made sure to secure one of the four spots at 10:03 a.m.— the first tee time of the season.

“It’s about time. That’s the only thing I have to say,” Hunt said, who’s had a membership at Cooke since he moved to Prince Albert 10 years ago. “We’ve had a long winter, but we’re ready to go.”
