MELFORT, Sask. – The Canadian Meat Council (CMC) is implementing a market strategy with a goal to maintain existing markets and identify new trade opportunities.
In collaboration with the Canadian Pork Council and the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association, the CMC is participating in trade advocacy missions, engaging with in-market intelligence specialists, and arranging inspection visits by international officials to demonstrate compliance with food safety standards for export.
The federal government is providing roughly $543,000 in support.
Canadian Meat Council President and CEO Chris White said the funding allows them to do valuable advocacy by reaching out to our counterparts and build allies to help influence decision-making in these markets.
