P.A. Kinsmen Club celebrate a successful Fest-of-Ale

For the first time since before COVID-19 hit, the Kinsmen Club was able to host to important fundraising event this past weekend.

The third Fest-of-Ale event took over The Ches Leach Lounge Saturday night and featured more than 25 vendors serving their best craft products.

“Attendance was very good this year,” said committee chair and Kinsmen member Shaun Pikaluk. “This was only our third event we’ve done, the first since COVID hit. This one was a lot busier attendee wise, as well as we had about 10 more vendors as well.”

Pikaluk explained most of the vendors were from Saskatchewan with a couple of national distributors also taking part.

While attendees had a great time coming together and enjoying the different vendors, the event was a fundraiser to help the Kinsmen Club with some important projects.

“One being the conversion of the softball diamonds at Crescent Acres to baseball,” said Pikaluk. “We’re currently fundraising for that project and also fundraising to pave the rink at Carlton Park for basketball and pickleball courts for the summer months.”

Pikaluk added it was encouraging to see the support this year given the hiatus.

“It was nice to see that people responded well to an event again. The people that we talked to are excited to start attending events. Everybody was just excited, and everybody was in a good mood and had a great night.”

The committee will debrief on this event but Pikaluk said gauging the interest from vendors and attendees that it’s likely Fest-of-Ale will return in 2023.

“I think we’ll definitely be looking into doing a fourth one for next year.”
