It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Daniel Laurin Frenette, late of RM of Shellbrook, SK. He passed from this life on May 3rd, 2022, at the age of 50 years. Daniel was born May 19th, 1971, to Jeanette (nee Pelletier) & Gilles Frenette in Prince Albert, SK.
Daniel loved his chosen profession, being an Instrumentation Technologist for SaskEnergy.
He first worked in the eastern United States, then Kindersley, SK, and Swift Current, SK before moving to Tisdale, SK. This is where he met the love of his life Crystal at the local bowling alley. They moved to back to Prince Albert, SK to be closer to his mom in the nursing home. After many biking adventures and kayaking around La Ronge, they were married. Daniel knew he had the best of both worlds in his job: a beautiful south face office and the ability to drive around in northern Saskatchewan. His workdays consisted of either working on large industrial gas meters or going out to a farm to pet the dog and start the farmers’ grain dryer. Dan recently celebrated 25 years with Sask Energy.
In 2003, Daniel and Crystal moved out to Round Lake and joined the great Wild Rose community. Coral was born in 2007 and joined their next adventures of biking and kayaking. Daniel loved to visit and his willingness to help his community was well known. He loved to problem solve and was able to conquer many projects whether it be taking his chain saw out to cut back the trees for a neighbor after a plow wind, brainstorming ways to fix a furnace, or making emergency plans to modify tents during the rainstorm at camp on a fishing trip. You always knew that you could count on Dan when crap hit the fan. Dan enjoyed kiteboarding, cross country skiing, biking, kayaking, and fishing trips with his brother and buddies.
Dan is survived by his wife of 20 years, Crystal; his daughter Coral; his brother Darryl (Cindy) Frenette; his sister Lee-Anne (Eddie) Hewitt; his father-in-law Larry Hendren; his sister-in-law Bevera (Tim) Allan; his nieces Brynn (Jesse), Jasmine, Kirstin, Molly (Kenny), & Breah; his nephews Brant, Braelyn (Azia), Logan (Charissa), & Samuel.
Daniel was predeceased by his parents Jeanette & Gilles Frenette; his mother-in-law Joan Hendren & brother-in-law Corey Hendren.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at Wild Rose School on Saturday, May 7th, 2022, at 2 PM. Condolences can be sent to the family on our website at www.mackenziechapel.ca.
