New exhibit showcases the unique and often forgotten art in Prince Albert
Local art will again be on display as a new exhibit hopes to showcase the unique masterpieces from the city.
As part of the Artists in Communities program, a new display is now open at the John V. Hicks Gallery until April 23.
The exhibit is titled “Symbiosis: Art and the community” and as curator Jesse Campbell explains, it’s a culmination of nearly a year of work from local artists.
“For the past 10 months, we’ve had a group of artists who work in visual arts, writing, and theatre and they have been connecting with various community organizations and using their art practices to help people who have had barriers in life, kind of find their unique voices and show them how creativity can be a wonderful way to translate their life experiences and feelings and thoughts into works of art.”
