It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend, Verner Robert Dyck (Bob). Bob passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on March 28, 2022 at Rosthern Hospital surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife Diane, his daughter Kristal (Lyndon) Dunville and their children Blake and Kydon, his son Ryan (Tawni Teiber) Stocki and their son Zaiden, his son Dillon (Morgan Schneider) Dyck, and his daughter Kayla (Bryce Blondeau) Dyck as well as several relatives and friends. Bob was born on December 15, 1941 in Vancouver BC. He lived in Carlton Saskatchewan till he was 12 years old when his family moved to an acreage in Macdowell Saskatchewan. At the age of 15 years old, Bob began what would become his lifelong passion of racing horses. Throughout his adulthood years, Bob worked for Weyerhaeuser Pulp Mill as a supervisor. On October 16th 1999 Bob married Diane Stocki from Yellow Creek, SK and became the proud father of Kristal and Ryan Stocki. In 2000 Bob and Diane welcomed their first son together, Dillon. Later in 2002 Bob and Diane would expand their family, adding Kayla. Bob lived and breathed horses. He raised thoroughbred race horses that he would train and race. Later he would purchase his first stallion and start his own horse breeding farm. Bob enjoyed teaching his daughters his ways with the horse. Bob also enjoyed hunting deer, and if he was lucky enough to be drawn, moose and elk as well. Each hunting season, he enjoyed teaching his hunting ways to his sons. Finally, Bob enjoyed spending time driving around the grid roads with his wife Diane where he would spend more time looking in the ditch then he did where he was going. Bob was blessed and honoured to have spent the final few years watching his grandsons grow and sharing his knowledge with them. Bob will be remembered for his hard work ethic, his love for his family and horses, and his knowledge of thoroughbred horse pedigrees. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church in Wakaw, SK on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Matthew Nguyen as celebrant. Cremation will follow with interment of the Urn at the Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Bob may be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Marc Blondeau of Kushneryk Funeral Service. 306-233-4403.
