An impressive week for Raider goaltender Tikhon Chiaka has been recognized by the Western Hockey League (WHL).

One of those shutouts came last Tuesday when he made 23 saves in the Raiders 4-0 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Following a 3-2 overtime loss against the Blades on Friday, Chaika came roaring back with 31 saves the following day in a 1-0 shutout in Saskatoon.

Chaika leads all rookie goaltenders with 39 appearances this season and is currently second in goals-against average and save percentage for first time goalies.

The Raiders are next in action on Wednesday as they host the Swift Current Broncos. Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m.
