Parkland Ambulance deals with assaults and car crashes on weekend

Parkland Ambulance Paramedics responded to 82 incidents over the weekend.

Late Friday afternoon a car crash at 16th St. and 2nd Ave. W. required their attention. They cared for a 10-year-old boy, a 21-year-old woman and a 52 year-old-woman. All had minor injuries. They were taken to hospital for further care.

At 7:20 a.m. Saturday they responded to an assault in the 300 block of 20th St. E. They treated a 35-year-old man for minor injuries. He was taken to hospital for further care.

A 45-year-old woman crashed her car into some wildlife late Saturday night on Hwy. 3 near the Fairview Fairways Golf Course. Her minor injuries required more care, so she was taken to hospital.

An assault in the 3000 block of 2nd Ave. W. Saturday night sent a 15-year-old boy to hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

At 6 a.m. Sunday, Parkland Ambulance Paramedics responded to an assault in the 900 block of 2nd St. E. They cared for a 25-year-old man with minor injuries. He was taken to hospital for further care.

Parkland Ambulance wants to remind everyone that melting ice and snow leads to slippery sidewalks and roads.

Be cautious when walking or driving, and put safety first.
