It is with great sadness and profound love that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Henry passed away peacefully on February 10, 2022 at the age of 90 years.
Henry was born to Joseph and Bernadette in Domremy, SK and was the 5th of 10 children. Henry attended school in Domremy and at the convent in Duck Lake. In his youth he worked alongside his dad helping him at their family business, the Blondeau Garage. It was there that Henry met the love of his life, Jeannine Prefontaine. He moved to Prince Albert in 1953 to work at Mann Motors, where he retired from his 43 year career as Parts Manager.
Henry and Jeannine were married on May 3, 1958.
He was a devoted, father to his three girls; Carol, Josette and Christa, and grandfather to his 6 grandchildren. Henry loved nothing more then spending time with family.
In retirement Henry and Jeannine escaped city life and made the permanent move to Christopher Lake, where they enjoyed 20 wonderful years of cottage life.
Henry was an accomplished woodworker, you could often find him in his shop, working on projects. He was especially fond of building clocks.
He led an active life: biking, canoeing, boating, and daily walks with Jeannine. Thankfully, he was fortunate to remain active until his passing. Henry also spent countless hours at his computer, researching their genealogy, writing memoirs, and compiling family photos and videos; capturing a lifetime of beautiful memories that will be cherished by his family for years to come.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 63 years Jeannine (Prefontaine), his three daughters Carol (Greg) Bell, Josette Blondeau, and Christa Blondeau and 6 grandchildren: Tyler (Janine), Meaghan (Jordan), Kelsey (Cody), Tyler, Jared, and Ryan; his siblings , Denise Cain, Alexandre, Jeanne Comeau, Solange (Don) Crawford, Beatrice (Brian) Waldner, and Lorraine Blondeau; his sister in laws Therese Blondeau, Shirley(Rudy) Balon as well as several nieces, nephews . A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Prince Albert with Interment of the Urn to follow at the Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
