Albert Provost retires after 27 years with Catholic School Division

After 27 years of service on the board of education and many more as a teacher and principal for the Prince Albert Catholic School Division, Albert Provost has announced his retirement.

Provost has been on the board since 1999 and has been involved in initiatives including advocating for the renovation of École St. Mary High School and the building of École St. Mary High School.

He was currently serving as vice chairperson of the board of education and has served on multiple committees.

“Dedicated and passionate about Catholic education, Albert was also heavily involved in the Canadian Catholic Trustee Association. He was a champion and founding member to the Toonies for Tuition campaign which raises money for students across Canada who are required to pay tuition for Catholic education. He continuously advocates for Catholic education,” as stated in a media release.

He also began his teaching career with the Catholic School Division in 1969 at St. Michael School and was principal at many school. He retired from teaching in 1994 and found the Prince Albert Catholic Education Foundation (PACE).

“Over his 27 years as a board member and his years of service as a teacher, Albert Provost has truly made a difference in our local and national Catholic Education community. His contributions and efforts are remarkable,” said Board Chair Suzanne Stubbs.
