John Bosomworth
1947 ~ 2021

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of John William Bosomworth, at the age of 74 years. John faded away peacefully at Pineview Terrace on December 23, 2021, surrounded by his family.

John was born in Prince Albert, SK, the son of William & Violet Bosomworth. He was the oldest of four brothers, Gary, Brian, and Glen.

John attended school in Prince Albert, and graduated from Riverside Collegiate in 1965. John searched for his job of choice in Prince Albert, but not satisfied he headed north to try his hand at mining. He worked in Thompson, MB, for the Hudson Bay Mining & Smelting Co. Mining was an experience, but not his life choice.

Travel brought him to Lloydminster, where he met Carolyn Forsyth. They married in Flin Flon, MB, in 1970, and welcomed Derek and Crystal to their growing family, and Prince Albert became home again.

Life changes had John starting his career job at the Prince Albert Pulp Mill, as a single man. Soon he met Barbara Brandstad, and as they could hear wedding bells, they tied the knot in Saskatoon, in 1979. Living in Prince Albert, the new family moved to an acreage near Hennribourg. John’s family grew, soon Jennifer, Jonathon, Joshua and Jadeena made the family unit complete.

John spent 27 years at Weyerhauser. He worked positions in both the pulp and paper mill. He was lucky enough to enjoy the limousine ride to his retirement party just a month before the mill’s closure.

Before he ended his career, another turn in his life had John by himself. Through friends he was to find the friend and partner he would spend the rest of his life with Diane, his supporter, his spouse, they became a couple for life.

John was predeceased by his father William, and Mother Violet, and brother Gary.

He is survived by Diane Piecowye; his children, Derek (Kristi) Bosomworth, Crystal Bosomworth, Jennifer (Chris) Meville, Jonathon (Emma) Bosomworth, Joshua (Danielle) Bosomworth and Jadeena (Chris) Greene; his brothers, Brian Bosomworth and Glen Bosomworth; along with 12 grandchildren.

The family wishes to recognize and thank the caregivers at Whispering Pines Care Home in Canwood, where John received excellent care.

The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on December 31, 2021, at River Park Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens, in Prince Albert, SK.
