Semi-truck holds up traffic on 15th St. E. after getting stuck

Dec 9, 2021 | 4:22 PM

There was an accident involving a supply truck that blocked traffic on 15th Street East Thursday morning.

A semi-truck that sat horizontally across the road beside Dr. Javas Coffee House blocked the road completely halting traffic.

In September, a median was installed on 15th Street East raising concerns among business owners as there were no turning options for drivers to access the south side of the road. However, Director of Public Works for the City of Prince Albert Wes Hicks said the accident had nothing to do with the medians.

β€œIn talking with the officer in charge of the scene the driver of the transport truck was making a right hand turn out of the business and he misjudged his turning and he hung up the trailer unit on the snowbanks along the sidewalk and the boulevard,” Hicks said.

Police officers were on hand at the incident helping with traffic flow. (Nigel Maxwell/paNOW staff)

He added the driver made an error and was issued a ticket.
