Olav Karl Lima

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Olav Karl Lima, late of Kinistino, SK formerly of Brancepeth, SK on December 5th, 2021, at the age of 79 years. Olav was the youngest of five children born to Endre & Aasta Lima, on April 19th, 1942, in Kinistino, SK. Olav grew up on the family farm south of Brancepeth, SK. He began his schooling at Derby School then attended Birch Hills School, where he graduated. Olav loved his farm and animals, especially his horses. There were many sleigh rides with his team. He also enjoyed taking them to the local parades. Olav enjoyed his trips to Norway and having visitors from there. Olav’s failing health forced him to sell the cattle and eventually the horses too. The Weldon Villa became his next home, and he loved his visits to the Silvertone for coffee. After a lengthy stay in the hospital, his new home became the Jubilee Lodge in Kinistino, SK from January 2020 until his passing on December 5th, 2021.
Olav is survived by his sister Thelma (Larry) Schultz; his nieces & nephews Bryce Young, Ardith Lindenback, Neil Young, Shelley Hildebrandt, Shirley Bond, Judy Schultz, Kim Kosowan, & their families. Olav is predeceased by his parents Endre (Aasta) Lima; his brother Samuel Lima; his sisters Alma Young & Esther Lima; his great-niece Janelle Bond; his brothers-in-law Dan Young & Norman Kosowan; as well as several aunts and uncles from Norway.
A funeral service will be held at MacKenzie Chapel on Saturday, December 11th, 2021, at 2 PM in Prince Albert, SK. The Officiant will be Bryce Young. Interment will take place in Birch Hills Cemetery following the service. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Jubillee Lodge Health Care Auxiliary, Box 56, Kinistino, SK, S0J 1H0.
