It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joe Narowski, late of Leduc, AB, on November 27, 2021 at the age of 93 years. Joe was born on April 1, 1928 to Frank & Mary Narowski of Prince Albert, SK, who farmed in Strong Pine, SK. Joe grew up on the farm in the Strong Pine region, which is located approx. 23 miles NE of Prince Albert. He was 1 of 3 children raised on the farm. Joe took over the family farm and continued to work the land for many years. He also was a ferry operator on the North Saskatchewan River at the Cecil ferry location east of Prince Albert. During the winters, Joe drove taxi and enjoyed dining at his favorite restaurants, Humpty’s, and Seetos. Joe was a hockey and baseball fan and followed the PA Raiders, Edmonton Oil Kings, Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Blue Jays faithfully. He was known to jump into his car and travel to Saskatoon on many occasions when the Raiders and the Blades were playing. Joe relocated to Alberta to be closer to his family. Joe set up residence in Warburg, at the Cloverleaf Lodge. He enjoyed the outdoors and the rural community in Warburg. Eventually, Joe moved into Leduc and resided at Plainview Manor. Joe enjoyed living in the city as he could walk down to the Burger Baron across the street and grab a mushroom burger and fries. With his wit and his conversation he endeared himself to the owners of Burger Baron, so all he had to do was make a phone call and they would deliver his dinner to him. Joe enjoyed many outings into the country to inspect the farms and crops around Leduc. It was a monthly ritual for him, as you can’t take the farm out of the man. Joe relocated to Extendicare in Leduc and spent a short but memorable residence there. He was surrounded by friends, family and staff at the time of his passing.
The family wishes to thank The Leduc Foundation, St. Michael’s Church and especially the invaluable staff of Extendicare Leduc for the exceptional care and compassion they have shown to this incredible man.
Joe was predeceased by is Mother and Father, Mary (Balicki) & Frank Narowski, his brother and sister-in-law Stanley and Delvina (Smytaniuk) Narowski, his sister and brother-in-law Anne (Narowski) and Alec Repchinski, He is survived by his nephew and niece-in-law Kenneth and Dawn (Baker) Repchinski, niece and nephew-in-law Karen (Repchinski) and Manuel Perez, nephews Scott Narowski and Stacey (Renelle) Narowski.
