Sask Lotteries funding helps Prince Albert Sharks Swim Club plan for the future
The Prince Albert Sharks Swim Club is looking to the future with excitement as it begins to make plans for its future move to the new aquatic centre.
The Sharks recently received almost $3,000 in funding from Sask Lotteries through the Sask Sport’s Membership Assistance Program (MAP). The swim club is using the money to purchase dryland training equipment and new lane ropes.
The club currently swims at the Frank Dunn pool, which has five 25-metre lanes. In March, the City of Prince Albert approved plans for a new aquatic centre that will include an eight-lane 25-metre pool that will be able to host local and regional swim competitions. Currently, the Frank Dunn pool does not meet the requirements for hosting such competitions.
The purchase of the new lane ropes will help the Sharks meet both its current needs and prepare for hosting future competitions in the new facility.
