Peekeekoot scores twice, Raiders start on time in win over Broncos
During his Friday post-game interviews after a disappointing defeat to the Red Deer Rebels, Prince Albert Raiders captain Kaiden Guhle wanted his team to get off to better starts.
Guhle and the rest of the Raiders got their wish as they scored the first three goals on Saturday en route to a 4-1 win over the Swift Current Broncos on the road.
“We’re a little happier tonight,” Raiders assistant coach Jeff Truitt said after the game. “There’s a lot more urgency in the offence. The shots on goal (32-16 Raiders) in the first period (9-4 P.A.) and the second period (13-6) were indicative of the play. I thought we had, especially in the first period, sustained pressure.”
The Raiders had a 2-0 lead after the first period thanks to goals from Evan Herman and Dallyn Peekeekoot’s first of two markers in the game.
