Important game for three Raiders as they take on Rebels tonight at the Hauser

Nov 12, 2021 | 12:00 PM

At least three Prince Albert Raiders (5-8-0-1) will have had Friday’s game against the Red Deer Rebels (11-6-1-0) at the Art Hauser Centre circled on their calendar.

This will be Keaton Sorensen’s first game against his old Rebels club, since the Raiders acquired him from Red Deer back in August. Sorensen is also from Red Deer, so this is the first time he’ll play against his hometown club.

The same goes for rookie Harrison Lodewyk, who the Raiders drafted in the second out of the Red Deer U15 AAA Rebels.

And although Landon Kosior doesn’t have any obvious ties to Red Deer or the Rebels, it’s still a big game for him as well. Kosior is playing in his 100th WHL career game. Kosior has 11 goals and 34 points all with the Raiders. Kosior is off to his best offensive start to the year as he already has two goals and seven points in 14 games.

No Massier

Raiders are now down to a pair of 20-year-olds on their club, as Carter Massier has left the team due to a season-ending injury. Massier suffered an upper-body injury in the only game he played for the Raiders on Oct. 29 against the Brandon Wheat Kings after signing with the team as a free agent.

Up next

After Friday’s contest, the Raiders will travel to Swift Current to take on the Broncos. That will be part of a four-game road swing, as the Raiders will then play the Edmonton Oil Kings on Nov. 19, the Rebels again on Nov. 20 and the Moose Jaw Warriors on Nov. 24.
