Repairs to three bridges at Little Red River Park to start soon
The City of Prince Albert said construction will soon start on the replacement of three pedestrian bridges in Little Red River Park.
Oct. 18 has been set for the day for construction to begin on The Sliding Hill Bridge, The Lions Gate Bridge, and The Sports Council Bridge.
The Sliding Hill and Lions Gate bridge were both damaged after the Spruce River flooded in 2013, while the city said The Sports Council Bridge was roughly built and sways side to side. The embankments at both ends are also eroding and the retaining wall on the north side is decaying.
“All three bridges will be replaced with prefabricated steel structures meeting current building codes and accessibility standards,” said Capital Projects manager for the City of Prince Albert, Nykol Miller.
