Police confirm man assaulted in West Flat was victim of homicide

A suspicious incident in Prince Albert’s west flat on Saturday has now been confirmed by police to be a homicide investigation.

Jeremy Wade Charles, 29, was declared deceased in hospital on Monday two days after being assaulted.

On Saturday, at approximately 12:12 p.m. police and paramedics were called to the 700 block of 18th St. W. That’s where they found Charles, who was taken to Victoria Hospital with serious injuries, and later transported to hospital in Regina.

The Prince Albert Crime Reduction Team (CRT) and Forensic Identification Section of the Prince Albert Police Service continue to investigate.

Anyone who witnessed this assault or has information in regards to Charles’ whereabouts between Oct. 1 and Oct. 2 is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

Charles’s death marks the city’s eighth homicide case this year.
