Block Re-election

Kelly Block seeks re-election in Carlton Trail-Eagle Creek riding

Sep 13, 2021 | 3:30 PM

Kelly Block has been a Member of Parliament for the past 13 years, six of those for the Eagle Creek-Carlton Trail riding.

Block told northeastNOW after six years under this Liberal government, she believes the future of the country is at stake.

“The Trudeau Liberals seem intent on reimaging Canada in a way that I feel erodes many of our fundamental freedoms and seeks to divide rather than unite Canadians,” Block said.

Block said we need a federal government that protects freedoms and unite Canadians which she believes is the Conservative Party of Canada.

In her campaign, Block is focused on sharing the Conservative Party’s five-point plan.

“The plan includes recovering the one million jobs that were lost in the pandemic, implementing a mental health action plan, enacting a new anti-corruption law, building manufacturing capacity for vaccines and creating a strategic stockpile of products here at home,” Block said. “Balancing the budget over the next decade and I am very encouraged by the response I am getting on the phone and doorstep.”

Concerns from constituents include the drought in the prairies, vacant jobs at businesses and debt as well as frustration about the election.

The wife, mother and grandmother said she has been a strong voice for the riding over the past six years.

“There is a great deal of work to do to get our country back on track and secure the future for Canadians to come,” Block said. “The Conservative party is the only party that I believe can defeat Justin Trudeau and his Liberal government and NDP allies.”

Block said she feels it is her responsibility to continue serving the Carlton Trail-Eagle Creek constituents and getting to the task of getting the country back on track.

The federal election will take place on Sept. 20.
