Estelle Hjertaas

Estelle Hjertaas is a devoted community leader who has always felt that public service is a duty. As a result, she has dedicated her life to helping people and fighting for those without a voice. That commitment has led her to stand as the Liberal candidate – to be your voice in Ottawa and bring resources to tackle the challenges facing our communities. As a lawyer with Legal Aid Saskatchewan for seven years, Estelle works with youth and adults in PA, and travels with the Cree court to Indigenous communities to represent those who could not otherwise afford to hire a lawyer. These experiences have made the challenges of poverty, addiction, and intergenerational trauma deeply personal and redoubled Estelle’s commitment to ensure no one is left behind. Outside of the legal world, Estelle has embedded herself in Prince Albert, fostering connections by founding Prince Albert Young Professionals and Prince Albert Salsa, promoting childhood literacy by co-founding the local Dolly Parton Imagination Library, and sitting on eight other boards including the JMC Library, the PA YWCA, the Co-operative Health Center and La Société Canadienne Française de Prince Albert. In addition, Estelle volunteers with organizations including Pro Bono Law and Big Brothers Big Sisters. A lover of the outdoors, she hunts, hikes, paddles and camps. She is also a new mom and has been a foster parent. Estelle holds a Bachelor of Arts (Joint Honours in History and Political Science) from McGill University, and then graduated cum laude with both Common and Civil Law degrees from University of Ottawa with a focus on environmental law and indigenous law. She is fluent in French and English.

Randy Hoback

Randy Hoback is the incumbent member of parliament for the federal riding of Prince Albert. He was recently appointed as a member of the House of Commons Special Committtee on the Economic Relationship Between Canada and the United States by Conservative Party Leader Erin O’Toole. During his time as a Parliamentarian, Randy has served in many different roles including the Chair and Vice-Chair of the House of Commons Standing Committee on International Trade and the Standing Committee on Agriculture & Agri-Food. Randy was born in Prince Albert and grew up in Canwood. He holds a business administration certificate through the University of Saskatchewan and a Chartered Director’s designation (C. Dir.), which he completed through McMaster University’s Chartered Directors College. Randy is married and has two children.

Heather Schmitt

Heather Schmitt is a small business owner from Carrot River. In 2016, after completing her diploma in Business Administration from Lakeland College, she started her own business; HS Performance Horses, providing equine therapy and Schmitt Organics – a farm-gate beef sales business. She also does contract work in Organic Certification as an Administrator for chapters under TransCanada Organic Certification Services. Heather is involved in 4-H and is an avid barrel racer. Unlike any other federal party, the Maverick Party will only represent the best interests of the West.

Joseph McCrea

Joseph McCrea was born in Saskatoon and recently moved to Melfort. He is married a father to three children. Joseph is a property manager by day and a voice for freedom outside of his work hours. Joseph has a passion for Canada and the people here to be aware of their fights. He stands for and values freedom, liberty, truth, prosperity, and the overall wellbeing of Canadians.

Hamish Graham

Graham was born in Scotland and currently lives in Birch Hills, where he has been since 1977. He has been a supporter of the Green Party both provincially and federally since 1980.

He ran in the 2020 provincial election with the Saskatchewan Green Party.
This is his first time running in the federal election.

His campaign will focus on reconciliation with Indigenous peoples, and agriculture and climate change.

Ken MacDougall

Ken MacDougall is a teacher, educational consultant and journalist who lives with his family on Muskoday First Nation. He has written passionately and extensively on Indigenous affairs and educational reform. Ken has been an active support of the NDP and its policies for the last 35 years. Ken seeks to promote a generous and unifying style of politics that confronts the racial and xenophobic political divides and hopes to rekindle mutual aspirations of rural and urban communities alike. Ken was the child of a Canadian Armed Forces veteran from P.E.I. and had the opportunity to live in every province in Canada except Newfoundland. He graduated from Dalhousie University in 1976. He had a 35-year career as a Systems Analyst, developing software for an emerging medical record keeping company. In 2007, he received his Master’s Degree from Concordia University and began teaching mathematics in reserve communities in British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Kelly Block

Kelly Block was first elected to the House of Commons representing the riding of Saskatoon-Rosetown-Biggar on October 14, 2008 and was re-elected on May 2, 2011. She was elected as the MP for the newly created riding of Carlton Trail-Eagle Creek in 2015 and again in 2019. Kelly has served on several standing Committees, over the past ten years, as well as Special Committees including the Committee on Violence Against Indigenous Women and the Special Subcommittee on a Code of Conduct for Members. Prior to being elected as a Member of Parliament, Kelly served on the town council of Waldheim for three terms, serving two of those terms as Mayor. At the same time, she was a member of the Saskatoon Regional Health Authority and the Director of Administration at Forest Grove Community Church. Kelly and her husband Milton have four children and eleven grandchildren.

Shannon O’Toole

O’Toole is a continuing care assistant, community advocate, and labour activist who is running for the federal NDP.

Working in rural homecare, O’Toole sees the urgent need for strong, accessible health care and other vital public services. She supports expanding health care to cover mental health services, dentalcare, and pharmacare and also advocates for building more affordable housing, providing universal access to affordable childcare, and strengthening pensions.

As a labour and community activist, O’Toole advocates for the rights of all people, including workers, people with disabilities, migrants, and the LGBTQ2SI+ community. She has collaborated, organized, and fought with organizations like Stop the Cuts Saskatchewan, a coalition formed in response to brutal provincial austerity budgets.

Cherese Reemaul

Cherese Reemaul currently lives in Saskatoon and running for the Green Party in Cartlon Trail-Eagle Creek.

Reemaul has a solid background in human services and over ten years’ experience of delivering and managing front-line social services for high-risk and street entrenched individuals and communities.

She was inspired by recent events within the Green Party that showed a commitment to doing politics differently. This is what she is excited about, and wants to help accelerate.

Mike Bohach

Mike Bohach was born and raised in Saskatoon and currently lives in Martensville with his family. He has been married for 17 years to his wife Erin and together they have two boys. They have also been foster parents for four years. Mike has a long-standing interest in business and sales and currently works in the construction supply sales industry. Mike brings a common-sense platform – freedom, responsibility, fairness and respect. He wants to know your concerns and will stand up to be your voice in the federal government.

Diane Pastoor

Diane Pastoor was born and raised in British Columbia. She has spent her life in agriculture, growing up on a dairy farm then continuing that passion and career as she continues to farm with her husband, Mark. Diane and Mark and their four daughters made the big move to Saskatchewan in 2003 and switched from dairy farming to broiler chickens. That move resulted in her being elected to the board of directors for the Chicken Farmers of Saskatchewan as well as the Chicken Farmers of Canada. Diane also served on the Electoral District Association (EDA) for a Conservative Member of Parliament. Mark and Diane currently have a small grain operation and a bison ranch. Her hobbies include making and designing women’s clothing as well as traveling and spending time with their five precious grandchildren.
