Vandals target midtown neighbourhood

Aug 5, 2021 | 5:00 PM

Residents in Prince Albert’s midtown area awoke to an alarming sight Thursday morning.

Over the course of the night, a number of vehicles were vandalized. One woman who was busy on her day off, cleaning the spray paint off the hood of her car, told paNOW she was feeling very frustrated.

“It’s so disrespectful and ignorant and rude. Obviously they have nothing better to do with their time,” she said.

The woman explained this was the second time in two weeks she and her husband had been hit. Last week when crews were doing construction on the street, the couple moved their vehicles to the back alley and both were broken into.

Trevor Isbister lives on 10th St. E and his black Camaro was spray painted, and the windows were smashed.

“They missed three times with big cement rocks and put big dents all over the top of the window and the back quarter panel,” he said.

After speaking with SGI, Isbister was advised the vehicle will be a total write off.

“Which sucks because I paid it off in three years and bought it in 2010. I’ve kept it like a brand new car ever since,” he said. “It’s my pride and joy.”

In a media release Thursday afternoon, the Prince Albert Police service confirmed they are investigating reports that “several vehicles” were damaged overnight Wednesday in various parts of the city.

Anyone with information about any of these incidents is asked to contact the police service or Crime Stoppers. The City of Prince Albert offers free paint kits in the event your property is sprayed with graffiti.
