Busy long weekend for Parkland Ambulance

A busy August long weekend for Prince Albert residents also meant a busy long weekend for Parkland Ambulance who responded to 150 calls over the weekend.
Lyle Karasiuk, Director of Public Affairs for the ambulance service, had a few calls to note and praised the work of his team over this busy period.
- At 12:16 p.m., July 31, Paramedics responded to a motor vehicle collision at the junction of highway 120 and 913. Paramedics cared for a 29-year-old male with injuries and he was taken to local hospital in good and stable condition.
- At 6:38 p.m., July 31, Paramedics responded to a motor vehicle collision in the 100 block of 20th Street West. Paramedics report there were no injuries in this incident.
- At 6:50 p.m., July 30, Paramedics responded to a motor vehicle collision near the Sturgeon Lake Reserve. Paramedics report there were no injuries in this incident.
- At 1:11 a.m., August 1, Paramedics responded to a motor vehicle collision in the 1300 block of 6th Avenue East. Paramedics cared for a 37-year-old male with injuries and he was taken to local hospital in good and stable condition.
- At 2:36 a.m., July 31, Paramedics responded to a motor vehicle collision at 2nd Avenue West and Marquis Road. Paramedics report there were no injuries in this incident.
- This weekend our weekend our team expertly demonstrated their incredible care with two ROSC (return of spontaneous circulation). One was a 19-year-old female from an incident in the 1300 block of 6th Avenue West. Second was a 67-year-old male on the Little Red First Nation. Both incidents occurred on Saturday, July 31. Both patients are in good and stable condition in local hospital receiving care. Finding someone not awake, without a pulse and not breathing, is a critical emergency. CPR needs to be started immediately and continued till our team of paramedics arrive on scene to begin advanced care. The advanced care done by our paramedics are the scene is a team approach with a goal of spontaneous circulation and stabilization. WAY TO GO TEAM!!!!
